OT/ Most comprehensive assessment on climate...

Just in case many of you out there think they main threat to humanity is coming from Putin....well think again....
major report that took six years to complete, was released......and it is worse then anticipated.......

    Key points:

At least 3.3 billion people are already very vulnerable - highly exposed and least able to adapt.

Damaged ecosystems are less able to cope with a changed climate, and increased extreme weather has already pushed parts of world beyond ability to adapt.

Half of species assessed have already shifted polewards or to higher altitudes.

It's not too late to adapt, but window is narrowing.

Rapid action to keep warming close to 1.5C would reduce damages "but cannot eliminate them all"

Conserving 30-50% of global land and water is essential to Earth's ability to cope, as are cash and political will.

Many millions already forced from their homes and over 140 million could be displaced by 2050.

Weather extremes have exposed millions of people to acute food and water insecurity.

Every time that this needs to be taken seriously, some shyte kicks off....it's almost like we just don't want to face this elephant in the room.....and we will talk about anything bar this looming disaster.

But Nature hasn't gone away you know!!

NASA released a climate change report. They've forecast that water levels are set to rise by anywhere between 12 and 15 inches over the next 50 years if things stay as they are.

That was their most conservative estimate and doesn't take any further deterioration of the atmosphere into account. Very concerning given humankind's ability for fkn up.

If everyone on the planet had a wheelie bin sized container and used it to collect one bin full of rainfall - would this help?

What I find most concerning about all these released evidence based data sets is....how quickly they realize they underestimated the degree of degradation in the system... For example, they recently discovered a higher level of of nasty chemicals in the upper atmosphere during the lockdowns around the globe.....and while the CO2 levels stabilized...the amount of methane (much worse for the atmosphere but doesn't last as long in atmosphere) had increased.. This baffled scientists for a while until the understood from research carried out by a science team in Siberia that due to tundra melt, a much larger amount of methane was now escaping into the atmosphere......microbes that had been frozen for thousands of years sprang back to life and came out of deep hibernation...

Which leads to another interesting piece of data....quite a few gas fields in Siberia have been shut down due to fractured pipes as the ground underneath them thaws....so even though there is huge gas fields over there....it may indeed become very uneconomical to develop them going forward if the ground continues to turn to swamp.....

Nowhere, just store it somewhere 😄 don’t take me seriously on this Mick. The problem is the icebergs will still melt, the cycle of problems as you can imagine.

As with Covid - the motivations and crucially the financial supporters of the report need to be analysed.
Climate change is constant; man's contribution is negligible compared to the activity of the sun.
But climate change like Covid is part of the Great Reset- think about it.... only a world government controlling a world economy could be the driving force in a climate change programme.
Read "the creature from Jeckyll island"by G edward Griffin esp chapter 25 and 26 or the report from Iron Mountain1966.
It's not Covid , it's not climate change-[it used to be called global warming!!!] it is the Great reset
