Thread: Next up - Hibs in the cup

  1. #21
You can't blame Collum for that, on other day Mugabi might have got away with a yellow in the circumstances (tiny bit of ball, first minute of cup tie etc) but there's no complaints at all in the modern game if that's a red.

Hibs will be laughing all the way to Hampden after that. What an absolute clown show.

Yip, talking about being able to sh1tfest your way to a Cup Semi Final. We are so easy to play against, just win high balls at the back and wait for a mistake up the other end and that’s job done.

Expect attendances to fall badly for the remainder of the season, even by our standards.

The one saving grace from this season is that we will not be relegated, barring an almost impossible resurgence in form by Dundee and St.Johnstone, so at least there is that. At this stage and in these circumstances I’d be playing a team with a view to next season, which means that Cornelius - who was our best player today - and Slattery must start every single week when available. Sadly though we all know GA won’t do this.

Slattery needs forgiven. For the love of god let him out the doghouse.

Cornelius also deserves a run but no doubt will be 'protected' out the team for weeks.

And it’s for these same reasons we need a new manager now and a thorough shake up. The season is totally lost as some feared from the moment Watt was let go. Yeah he was going to go anyway down the road, but we’re reaping the rewards of the clubs decisions regardless. First to go needs to be GA and likely not just him.

The entire club needs gutted out from top to bottom. Far too many in there in a comfort zone and being allowed to make the same mistakes, the same poor appointments and allow the same poor level of scouting/signing over and over again.

Yes we are a fan owned club and we are always going to have our limits, but I’m not for one minute asking/expecting us to be competing on the same level as the Old Firm or even the Edinburgh clubs, but is a bit of football and entertainment too much to ask for? Is us placing more emphasis on youth development rather than filling the squad full of fifth rate English lower league level players an unreasonable hope?

The fact is we have been awful to watch for years and the spell in early 2019 when Turnbull and Hastie broke into the side apart, we have played zero football and it is driving our already small support down all the more.

Mugabe may have been a straight red, but Collum didn’t see it directly and was definitely swayed by the crowd of Hibs players who surrounded him. Robert’s yes could have been sent off for the tackle he got booked for. But the biggest mistake the ref made was for not sending off the Hibs keeper for a clear elbow at Lamie, which would have resulted in a possible penalty to us. The next team who will get a lift from playing us is no doubt St. Johnstone in two weeks time. This is a game IMO that we have to avoid losing otherwise we will totally capitulate giving the bottom two teams a huge lift
