    Hibs sack Maloney

Hibs have binned Maloney after a handful of months...he was on a contract to 2025 so a very expensive mistake you imagine.

On the other hand if a mistake has been made it's better to fix it sooner rather than later. You do wonder if ST sales (or the lack of them) played a part and if our board will be doing similar sums.

I bet they would take the place Alexander got for us

Definitely but I'm not convinced it would have made much difference.

If you appoint a rookie manager (albeit experienced as coach) you need to give him time to make mistakes, you only pull the plug four months into a 3.5-year contract if it's clear behind the scenes that something is horribly, irreparably wrong. And in that case the difference between squeeking sixth or not probably doesn't change the decision greatly.

I've never been a Maloney admirer (esp his diving antics with Shellick) but I wonder what that Hib's guy Gordon is all about. Four months doesn't seem nearly long enough to turn things satisfactorily. Maybe he should approach a miracle worker to take over ..... God Almighty or his boy?
