I'd have him back here in a heartbeat. He's a quality striker, bangs goals in at international level and has slapped 40 away in the championship so far this season. How people can still say championship is his level is beyond me. I believe he'd succeed at a top Prem club with quality around him and definitely back here working under Eddie. The only reason I think he'd struggle next season is because he's playing in a newly promoted team who lack Prem quality players

We’ve seen him play in the PL and while I realize he could’ve improved he was not good at this level. Look at Gayle at WBA. Mitrovic needs that extra split second to score that he gets in the Champo but not in the PL. He’d be a risk IMO, based on what we’ve seen so far.

Just for the record, I think Toney is a better striker than Wood but I would hope we could sign better. I don’t think Toney’s any better than Wilson.
I’d like to see Wood play next to a decent striker, like Wilson to see what happens!

We've never seen him in the Prem with a decent team. Kane would struggle to bag goals in the Prem playing for Fulham and for the Newcastle team Mitro was playing in under shocking management. He's matured a lot since then as well and I don't know how much of him you've watched this season but he certainly doesn't seem to need any extra time when in front of goal he's a beast in my opinion and would be a lot better option than both of our current strikers.

Shame it never worked out for him here. Rafa should have played him more, let's be honest.
Rafa doesn’t trust players that can’t be trusted to stay out of trouble and avoid a red card.

Mitrovic has to take a huge part of the blame there, not Rafa. If he wasn’t such a hothead I have no doubt he would have played consistently under Rafa. Same reason Rafa didn’t fancy Shelvey.
