Hendry - 7 world titles.

Scotland's GOAT? Usurping Stephen Hendry?
Not even close.
Hendry - 7 world titles.
Higgins - 2 world titles.
..also the alleged taking of bribes to lose matches?
4 world titles for Higgins (1998,2007,2009,2011)
7 for Hendry (1990,1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1999) all won by time he was 30, mental, now they talk of guys like Lisowski in his mid to late 20s "coming of age" cos he reached a quarter final ffs lol
Hendry still top boy for me ahead of Ronnie and Higgins, utter potting machine at his best and relentless like never seen before it since, goold knows how many events he'd win with how many they play now
Chris Hoy, William Wallace, Jim Watt, Andy Murray, Kenny Dalglish, Susan Boyle. all a credit to Scotland.
Hendry was machine-like at the top of his game. Definitely Scotland's best ever snooker player. But, he could be a bit boring to watch. But that was because he was really mentally strong. He had all the skills. But he tended to avoid any shot that brought in even a smidgeon of risk. The snooker-savy would no doubt get some entertainment from Stephen's ultra-safe style of play. But I prefer watching someone that isn't scared to take a risk and shows a bit of flair.
Hendry supports Hearts and votes Conservative.
For me, that makes him hard to like.
I was really talking about the best ever SCOTTISH player of all time Peter, I was suggesting Higgins has, just recently even, taken Hendry's crown. In further defence of my claim I give you Higgins' longevity, he's as good a player now as he's ever been whilst Hendry, without disregarding his brilliance, kinda fizzled out. The overall GOAT? My vote goes to the imperious Ronnie O'Sullivan. Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry & John Higgins easily make it into the top 5.
Not one to follow too much into stats n things so i wonder what the head to head on all competitions is? I would think Hendry would pull away into the lead on what he achieved in his career and i think got bored of wining and stopped trying. The clincher for me is Higgins and the bribe allegations and for me will never be considered the Scottish GOAT of snooker because of that!
The overall GOAT though is Ronnie O'Sullivan and i wonder what kind of records he could have set without the demons he appears to be affected by. However, i have a feeling i have forgotten something in Ronnies past that would change my judgement on that.
