I heard the Celtic manager getting interviewed the other day and he said that what happens at Celtic is, they look at where they want to strengthen months ahead of the transfer window so that when it opens...they can go and get the players in straight away. He said that the Celtic scouts are working throughout the year to identify targets and are always ready to go as soon as the get the chance! Imagine that...identifying targets and getting them in early. That would be the stuff of dreams!
You're correct in what you're saying but ultimately it comes down to money and status. Celtic and the likes can have their pick within reason.
We might not want to admit it but I doubt that there is a queue of (decent) players that aspire to come and play at Tannadice...especially this season. Bar the odd diamond in the rough, we're feeding off the scraps every transfer window and no amount of identifying or scouting will change that for the forseeable.
Please no for another 30 something!
Now that the Souttar deal has been at least confirmed, maybe the chairman can release some of what is due to us in advance of it hitting our bank accounts. If Watt does move on, i hope priority 1 and 2 is a forward and a defender with bonus keeper thrown in.
I have seen mention of Fuchs, but i just wonder if he has thrown another hissy fit and has been frozen out because of that. Not sure i can handle seeing him back here if he does it again to us down the line.
Fingers crossed for some signings.
