Wow, just had a listen to it, really impressed with the presenter, really got the characters of the two lads over. They seem like great lads and good knowledge of Notts. Good to hear how impressed the are with the set up, and people at the club. It really didn't seem forced. Seems they both want the number nine shirt, so it will be interesting to see who gets it. Scott mentioned his hold up play, so although not over six foot it seems like he will play the Wooton role. I have always wondered why it should be that people think hold up players should be over six foot, e.g Wooton. Surely it is easier to hold the ball up if it is fed to you chest high or lower. Size also doesn't mean a player is automatically good in the air, e.g. Sam.
Good luck to the lads anyway COYP
Yep, was well worth a listen. Good to hear the presenter correct his typical Florist-fan mistake regarding us being the oldest professional club too!
Being over 6 foot isn't a prerequisite for being good at hold up play but it certainly helps.
For every Mark Stallard at under 6 foot, there are at least 3 who are as good or better at hold up play over 6 foot.
Let's hope the new guy can do the job as I don't want the ball not sticking up top. That's no fun.
Jimmy Spencer wasn't very tall and it stuck to him like glue.
All the lads who hate the BBC should probably compare their coverage of Notts with that of the private Nottingham Post and think what might happen if it really were ‘defunded’.
