O’Shea being lined up by Burnley

Not good news IMO .... especially after we nursed him through almost an entire season last year ...mind never thought he was quite the same player on his return from what was serious injury ....

Totally agree with you. O'Shea was one of our few bright spots prior to his injury and one I would certainly prefer to keep despite his more lacklustre performances once he came back as he has that potential. Then again, we cannot get anyone to take the dross we have so need to generate money from somewhere if we want to bring in players like Okay.

Why would we sell him to promotion rivals? Anyway, I thought that he was earmarked as a future captain. Get rid of the 'old guard' not the youngsters. It would be a ridiculous move on our part. If he's got just twelve months left on his contract, offer him a new one.

Dreadful speculation. No doubt such a move will enhance Bartley’s employment chances ! A double disaster if it happens

    I don’t rate him.

If the money is right I’d grab it and spend on Okay and others.

O’Shea constantly gets done over his head when he’s centre half and by channel balls when he’s at fullback.

To me he always seems to be chasing or on the stretch, he makes the game look hard whereas class players make it look easy.

I honestly think we can do better for a lot less money.

I agree with you he isn't physical enough to play as centre half in a back 4 in the champ and not a good enough footballer to play right back, IMO Caleb Taylor will be a far better prospect.

We've been in negotiations with him a over new contract since last season. No idea how much he and his agent want but I suggest it's a lot given some of the stupidity our hierarchy agreed to last season.

I like Dara, I also think he will improve and in an ideal world I'd like him to stay. But we don't live in an ideal world and if push comes to shove we need to cash in while we can given our reportedly limited funds.

From Lai down to whoever cleans the toilets, I am sure everyone would agree, get rid of the ‘old guard’ not the youngsters.

Surely the problem is if they ain’t good enough for us then which clubs worse than us would buy the old guard and pay them the same wages, or better, than we do.

It is no easy task getting rid of these expensive, poor quality players because everyone can see them for what they are.
