I wonder why she is known as Thangam? It is so unusual and does not obviously indicate gender. Whereas Elizabeth and Rachel are English names going back into ancient history. We can easily recall lots of genial and attractive women called Elizabeth or Rachel.

She should have made it known, by the end of her teenage years, that she wished to be referred to as Elizabeth (or one of its variants) or Rachel.

I slightly prefer Rachel because it is so quaint and has a long history whilst still being quite popular nowadays.
