It's easy to argue the mistake at the first goal wasn't his if he mate a clear shout for the ball. But, I'd question what he was doing that far from goal in the first place. This is what probably caught Mulgrew out, not used to playing together. We seen that preseason in the Sunderland match with Eriksson (phucknose if that's how you spell that 🤪 ).

Can we overlook the Newman/Mulgrew 1st goal blooper & focus on the rest of his game where the goalie actually looked quite accomplished? I don't think the other 3 goals were anything to do with him?

Just read a wee bit of Goodwin's interview. He's quoted as saying no players will be leaving and no new players will be coming in. New keeper cancelled then?

Yup. Two shyte goalies-relegation specialist goalie coach-foreign keeper waiting on a work permit - only one outcome.

All of this needed addressing in January (some of it much earlier) complete dereliction of duty by the recently departed and the chump from America.
