Calling the board out for not backing him probably hasn't helped mind (and the 9-0 thrashing obviously)

Liverpool were looking for a whipping boy and Parker just had the misfortune to be next in line, it was a knee jerk reaction by his boss.

Former Sunderland manager Jack Ross has also been sacked from Dundee Utd after they were beaten
9-0 by Celtic. What is it with clubs sacking managers after 9-0 beatings today.

Apparently, he's had a go at the owner(s) several times in the media for not spending enough on new players. I understand that he's unhappy with that, but keep it internally? Maybe he wanted away himself.

I can actually understand the owners thinking he's clearly not happy and has just been in charge of a 9-0 battering - let's get rid!

On the other hand, B'mouth beat Villa and has since faced City, Arsenal and now Liverpool. You couldn't expect a lot more from them, even if 9-0 is a very heavy defeat.

I think it's harsh but understandable.

3 points out of those 4 fixtures is probably the most they could have expected so it's more about what he's said in the press. Much as you can sympathise with his need for new players (and their plight is thrown into sharp belief by the way Forest have spent to try and stay up), there must have been discussions about the owners' plan and vision and the need for everyone to be on board, at least publicly and about what should and shouldn't be said in the press.

Given the wording of the club statement, it looks like he's broken ranks and paid the price.

It's possible the decision to sack him was 100% fashion-based.
