    Fullbacks

Ive always had the opinion that most decent attacking fullbacks are just average midfielders. They naturally find this position because they are not good enough for the wing and cant play anywhere else. So why not convert a few players to fullback like Ramsey.

Any examples of this Bong, or are you basing your entire opinion on Ashley Young as he was a pretty good player for us!

Ramsey is a great ball carrying player and last season I thought he was in part filling some of the void following the departure of Grealish. So it's a no for me, I also think Cash needs to improve, no point bombing down the wing if you can't ping a cross in...

Well, Cash was originally a right-sided midfielder/winger at Forest. Probably explains his positioning and inability to defend.

Kenny Swain was a wide-right player before Ron got his hands on him.

Good old Kenny Swain, one of my Favourites, he had a knack of touching the all past the player bombing down the line delivering a perfect cross. As for JJ Bongo, not a chance.

In a way westy but not just Young. I remember watching a game when Young took a knock and MON moved him left back for about 15 minutes. He looked so much more comfortable on the ball than Bouma. If we could clone Ashley he would have played left and right back and both wings. I remember MON saying every player should be able to play every position except keeper and centre back that are obviously more specific where you cant be 5 foot 6.
I loved the way we played in midfield then. 442 in defence and then 4132 in attack. Milner Downing and Young tracking back in defence to help Petrov and then all three switching wings and positions to confuse the opposition.
Generally technically good midfielders are head and shoulders ahead of you basic fullback imho.

JJ needs to be further forward, not further back ffs, half the problem under SG was to many attacking mids playing out from their own half.
