Barlazer, ogbene and Viktor need to be retained. Not at any cost but on a fair/reasonable wage. If they don't accept then ok, we look elsewhere.
Harding and wiles are valuable players for us when they are on form and both can play various positions. Keep em both if they accept a wage SIM to what they are getting atm
    Dream world mate

    Viking chio baarslaar are gone

Wiles will want to go/won't sign s new contract

What is it about our poor negotiation skills?

We sign a player(s) for 2-3 years. It’s in the first season we get to see just how good they are but never step in with an extended contract.

We drag our feet hoping nothing will change and said player(s) will sign when we’re ready. This is very poor business and no it’s not a wait and see what league we’re in next season exercise.
If they’re good enough to keep you already know.

Never mind, we’ll just go through the motions once again and possibly lose valuable players for nothing at all because those in charge don’t act quick enough. Let’s hope the club benefits financially well if anyone does leave in January.

Do we need to wait to see what league were in, contract can have different pay levels for each league and release fees drawn in.

If after the first season we know we want to try keep them we offer a new deal.

Thing is the better younger players will know that they can find another club once their contract expires.

I’ll go with whatever MT thinks but good luck in trying to keep certain players

We need to start selling players who you know might want to go or get interest from others before they go on a free

If they go to Derby then I don’t want to know them 😂

They have all played a large part in getting us here and keeping us here,so keep all of them....with a couple more additions.

fc_miller, I knew this would be asked. It really makes no difference to what league you're in as contracts have clauses that cut both ways for both player and club, well you think they would.

You go up your pay goes up, you come down then so does your wage to reflect that. All the talk of wait and see what league you're in doesn't wash with me, it's just boardroom talk not to deal with the situation in hand there and then and hope they can talk a player round when it's too late. Too much proactive and not enough reactive at our club when it comes to contract extensions.

As for release fees, that's down to the club to talk this one through with a player, where they see his value and at what level they are prepared to let them leave. Thing is, if they want a release clause written in, then they must be a good player to demand that. I've never known any Millers play leave because their release clause has been bought out.

TLC, ????? You would keep Peltier, Ferguson, Odoffin, Kyode and Warne? These would be the first five on my list.

Sad to say but I would also be questioning Captain fantastic's contract. In him I would be looking to use him as a defensive coach.

    Quote from the Athletic:

As the summer underlined, this is a level increasingly dominated by transfers without cost. Championship clubs signed 65 free agents this summer, almost three apiece, while also agreeing to 79 loan deals. It is hard to be clear in the age of undisclosed fees, but it is estimated that only 47 transfers required a sum to be exchanged.

Howdy, you would guess that of the 65 free agents, a majority of them are well aged (we picked two up) or just making their way into football.
If you're a free agent it's for a reason and not because you're in demand. As for the 79 loan deals, that doesn't sound a lot when you think there are 23 clubs. Some clubs have 4 sometime 5 loans in their sides trying to keep buying fees down but ultimately having to seek new loanees come the next season. That's not building for the future.

There'll be no specialist defensive coach. 3 outfield coaches we have now including MT will do that job.
