Only me in house and I don't go above 19.5C on the Hive controller

Mine coming in at £6.50 to £7 with my thermostat at 16c to 18c, normal household white goods, but have fridge/freezer & freezer

My top tip is electric blanket.
4p/hr to run. Put it on an hour before bed, get in to a warm bed, then switch it off if you want. We use them at home and in the static.

This would seem to depend on the source of your statistics. Quite a few analyses I have seen recently claim that the UK does in fact have the highest electricity prices in Europe.
