look at LUKA MODRIC, 37 years of age, still controlling games at club and international levels, and small in stature, was outstanding against
    Celtic recently.
Regarding players over six foot 13 inches, remember we played a friendly against WOLVES a few years ago,
Wolves played first half with all players over 6ft.
2nd half with an entirely different eleven, out of the 22 players, only one was under 6ft, think Mick Mcarthy was the manager.
We don't encourage winning or success very much at all in this country, in any walk of life.

When we celebrate participation only we'll never be winners.

Totally agree, exactly as the few previous posters have said. I find it refreshing and a little reassuring to find out that I am not the only miserable old barsteward who thinks the antics of the 'tartan army' are a complete and utter embarrassment. I stopped going to watch Scotland 40 years ago after being a regular attender for about 20 years prior to that. I wore a tartan scarf and enjoyed the atmosphere at that time because, with the notable exception of the drunken outings to Wembley, it was all about the football. All this jimmyhats/wigs, daft songs and acceptance of mediocrity because it is some form of virtue to support a failing national side while making an utter arse of yourself hacks me off big time. Much rather have a greatly toned down support behind a team capable of competing with the likes of Croatia.

Agree 100% with your comment that we don't encourage winning or success. Schools giving up sports days, exams being downgraded in favour of assessments, do what you can, not what needs to be done.
