    O/T Economy in UK

I see lots of articles over here about the impoverished people in the UK, can't pay their energy bills, food banks swamped with hungry people, it goes on and on yet family and friends I talk to in the UK never mention it. Is it as bad as I've heard ?

It is. With inflation, people are already struggling with real-terms reduction in wages and that's before you factor in the heinous price rises the energy companies are implementing to keep their own fucking profits soaring.

That's terrible man, I notice the Newcastle Utd. owners have pumped money into the West End food bank along with specialist staff as per the "Mag." It's bad where I am but nothing compared to what some are facing in the north east.

Think it is the cold heartless way the incumbent government is treating the workers is more of the problem. Billions can be found immediately for the incompetence of crashing the economy, PPE fraud, Sunak overpaying UK foreign debts, wars, pocketing sell offs like Roysl mail, financing wars, shambolic Brexit execution costing 40 billion, energy policy - inadequate gas storage, faillure to effectively tax oil and gas profits and other fat cats.........yet it is the greedy bus drivers, nurses and binmen who have had real term paycuts over the last decade who are holding the country to ransom when a fraction of what was spent on the above would have solved the problems overnight.

And yet there are still some dodo's who will continue to vote for them. Some people will never learn as long as they live.
