    January Transfer Window 2023

Thought I would start a thread for rumours, thoughts..hopes and dreams!

Personally, I think we need at least 2 players in...a keeper and a midfielder. Loan deals likely...as they will need to be match fit and up to speed with the league already as we have no time for "allowing time to gel" !

    Any rumours or suggestions?

If we do get a new goalie in he's still going to make mistakes, every goalie does.
He may not turn out to be an improvement on what we've got.
And remember he'll need games to learn what's in front of him.

Now midfield. I'm reading that we need a Butcher-type signing.
We have about 37 midfielders in our squad so don't tell me NONE of them can do a Butcher.
And anyway was Djoum not meant to be the new Butcher?

..so,do you don't not think that we aren't needing any other players in and what we are actually needing is a clear out of management, scouts and coaches instead?

Maybe but he's not so far anyway.

Well some of our recruitment has been very good, e.g. Jamie Mcgrath but it's a real pity that e.g. Zander Clark wasn't on our shopping list.
I don't think we have the worst squad as the league position might suggest but I can see Ross Co etc out-scrapping us if said squad doesn't get a giant boot-up-the-arse.

We should be making an approach for 3rd choice clarke at herts, 100% especially the fact hes on £200 a week LESS than he was at fermers, hopefully he hands in a transfer request

knowing us though it will be some chunt fae youtube, possibly an Turkmenistan internationalist

absolute bare f ucking minimum we need for any chance of survival is a decent keeper, a DM and a striker

Watt, Fletcher and happy are nowhere near what we should have upfront, f uck all goals from any of them and what happens if Watt or Fletcher get injured?

We are f ucked, totally f ucked this season

Not if we get a good keeper in. Nicky Weaver took the grand total of 0 games to familiarise himself with what was in front of him when he arrived. He was just a good, solid goalkeeper. That's what we need. Nothing special. Just someone who doesn't flog a goal a game or put the sh*tters up his defence.

Surely some Scandinavia clubs would be interested in securing Erikssons services? Get Michael McGovern or Alan Mannus for a six-month loan deal. Let Harkes go home in January. Transfer Windows to be a thing of history, go back to wheeling and dealing if you have the money with transfer deadline day coming back as it used to be.
