Very sad news indeed. Terry Hall was one of the greats - an iconic singer. One of the best concerts I ever went to in 1979 - a 2 Tone set with Specials, Selecta and Madness. The Specials were the best. Too young to go at 63.

RIP Terry and thanks for the memories.

Sad news and feel for his family but I really disliked the Specials, not my sort of music at all. Each to their own, though.

Exactly my feelings. Sad news and rather young still at 63. But as for the music I could not stand that two-tone stuff, ska or in particular reggae. I still can't. Sometimes I will try and listen to some reggae, as a lover of music I feel I should appreciate it but most times i manage about two minutes and have to turn it off. It just sounds so pathetic and weak to me even though i know musically the beat and the rhythm behind the genre is intricate and not necessarily easy to play. Still, RIP Terry.

It wasn’t my favourite genre but some of it still stands out for me personally.

Maybe because I was still only 17 to 18 when it broke through?

The Specials, Selector, very early Madness and The Beat.

Mirror in the bathroom is such a good song and such clever lyrics and actually make more sense now that I’m old.....

Such a young age to go these days, as has been said Ghost Town was the perfect song of its time, I hadn't realised Hall was in Fun Boy Three - Our Lips Are Sealed was a firm favourite.
