After Boxing Day we'll have played all the other members of the top 8, except Barrow.

We have not beaten any of them in League Two this season.

Dropped far to many points against the bottom dwellers also for my liking.

We’ve been inconsistent for too many seasons, problem has been that we’ve been incapable of dealing with knock-backs, inevitably caving-in when we go behind. Under Simmo we’ve come back and got a few points after conceding which is why we’re nearer the top than the bottom. I’d rather be where we are now than where we were this time last year. Another goal a game and we’ll be fine, though I can’t see where they’ll come from. Maybe we can find a goal-scorer in the window?

If you look at the League table you will see that we are not really as high as 7th, in that any of 3 teams can go above us by getting a positive result in their individual games in hand on us. They will not all do it but one of them will.

Let's be fair on Paul Simpson. He has a weak budget (https://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38299282) and yet we are in the running for 7th place, which is a play-off place. Given such a weak budget it is inevitable that the squad will have flaws.

But however well Simpson has done the supporters will always want a little bit more. You cannot make a silk purse from shite (budget). We know why the budget is weak, so we have to accept that. Under a totally different regime such as the one that was summarily told to fuck off in 2015, the whole club would be vastly better with sponsorship, advertising and discounts / free goods and services from the best Cumbrian Companies that under the current Carlisle United 'ownership' will not do anything. The party dismissed in 2015 has turned dying companies into formidably powerful companies. That party consistently turns shite into gold.

But that party is no longer available, so just accept the current miracle from Paul Simpson and do not ask for more in terms of League Two success.
