Solution: Get the non playing staff to turn out next match. They could not do any worse and when we are losing to clubs like Barrow, Salford, Stockport so easily which are a league lower than last season then this club has had it. The Cat2 academy will sort things out...eventually, what year though? How many more millions need to be spent?

The club never answered my emails and suggests an amateur club with amateur outlook.

Sack the Board, most of the first team, all the managers and get the under 18-23 players to play the remaining games and who knows we may finish 5th from bottom and stay up. I didn't bother to listen to the match and that is a blessing but not fair on the travelling fans when we cannot even compete with most teams in a league lower than last season and yet think nothing in spending a million pounds PER SEASON on a so called academy that fails to teach the WHOLE object of football is to? Score a goal chaps, score a goal and when you cannot even have ONE shot on the opposing goal suggests the whole lot should be sacked and take sympathy on the fans. Sometimes things need sorting and the time has passed.

Mike the club have always treated fans with contempt and some are happy to be treated that way you only have to look at the unacceptable business model and first team to see that and they don’t care about the fans, Charles Grants arrogance is there for all to see.

To not manage one shot at goal during the whole match tells one all one needs to know about a team. The situation for the club is looking increasingly ominous if it hopes to retain its league 2 status. It is all very well say having a reasonable percentage of possession but if there is no end product hopefully leading to a goal what is the point. The club have been sailing close to the wind recently with some very narrow wins which have been far from convincing for the future. May be some astute transfers in the January window will give the impetus for a better outlook.

I hate to bring in coaching and the academy for the 368th time but this is where the end product is..

ie individual ability is either lost or hidden or wasn't there in the first place and so players are coached or shouted at to 'pass the ball' etc etc etc. So that academy players are 'conditioned' and think that is exactly the right word to 'pass the ball' and so its side to side 'passing' side to back 'passing' and so nothing is produced and players keep position mostly without going forward.

In them olden days, players signed for clubs with a proven ability as a full back or midfield and forward and so top front players would never play centre or full back and it was their natural ability was the reason they were signed. Where are the ultra fast wingers now in the game that got the ball and took off drawing players to them and then they either cut in or crossed the ball to others etc.

OK that's normal which you see in local games and so why has that been snuffed out in the Pro game?
I mean there must be hundreds of players in non league who are better than our ten year old coaching academy graduates but we seem stuck with them and that produces zero shots on goal.

The only other possibility is to sack most of them and sign better players but it will cost and arm and a leg to sack them and why its not done. Look at the Chairman's video on selecting the manager and he mentioned if he appointed an outside manager, some of the existing ones would be sacked and even mentioned any new manager needing to know the second string academy graduates and not the most important question..."How to win games of football". Its why nothing will change imho..We are stuck with the current squad and a possible loan player but who really wants to join a bottom of the fourth division club....Anyway, why should we pay the wages of those players on loan if their parent club doesn't want them and we are giving them games? ie they should cost nothing. IMO..

Its sad to say that if we continually appoint managers who's only managerial experience was with kids and youth footballers then how can they produce the goods against seasoned football players in opposing teams.

Wartman you and the thousand other Crewe fans at the game will know the situation. I watched a Stockport's fan's blog of around 15 mins of the game and of course he could and maybe would have edited it to suit his team but going on the goal attempts as you posted. Its the clear fact is we are not competing against these teams in the lowest division and losing to clubs we rarely did before and so maybe the ones here who think our model is OK then to suggest an alternative?

How come a thousand Crewe fans and so few posting on the only message forum there is. I don't count facebook or twitter as they are just one liner messages..

If some or many are suggesting we should wait for the next 'crop' of graduates coming throigh, they may have to wait a long time and then some may decide to leave without a transfer fee and so what happens then. I suggest our model was broken many years ago and we have no Directors who really know about football and sadly that could include our managers used to youth football but they seem nice guys and sad to see them suffer like the rest of the fans. A complete review of the ethos of the club is needed and maybe even an outside manager would struggle with this squad? Have you seen where Oldham is in the National League? Next to bottom and what does that suggest? We stick with the current model or change it? A failing company has to change but some will think we are just treading water. You cannot have a thousand fans going to away matches like this and sitting through games with no hope so to speak.

Wasn't Williams highly rated as he was the next big transfer fee?
