    Organising a fans buy out?

I’ve been talking about this with YarmouthBaggie ( Rich ) on FB this afternoon.

A lot of us are underwhelmed by the light waving “snowflake” fans protest group, it’s as much use as t it s on a nun.

I have neither the skills or the balls to head up a proper protest group or a buyout but I do have good contacts for looking into a fans buy out.

My view is that first and foremost we need a figurehead like Adrian Chiles or Frank Skinner or both to coalesce behind and to help give the whole thing momentum.

A friend of mine is friends with Adrian and has his phone number so do we try to start something from here on the forum to get this moving.

Even if we only start the snowball maybe we can actually get something meaningful happening?

Is there any heart for this on here amongst you lot or are you just happy to sit on your hands or at best wave the little light in your phone whilst your club gets r a p e d by this little fool!?

Balls in your court, I’ll make the effort to see if Adrian and Frank are interested but only if people are willing to get behind this?

I don’t want to do something and then find myself stood their holding my own d I c k with nobody else in the room!

I'm in for sure. In what capacity I can assist I will - financially I can always put some in the pot.

To be honest Phil, it’s not about the money.

I want to gauge the level of support before I send a begging text to Adrian Chiles.

I’d then want the advice of a mate who sold his company to venture capitalists for tens of millions and to get onboard a company ive dealt with personally who specialises in this stuff.

I don’t pretend to know enough but I do know useful people including one former forum member who nearly bought the club before Paul Thompson.

Best of luck Mick I certainly hope you can get something going. Any genuine Albion fan would certainly get behind any venture that can get this odious charlatan out of our club. Lets hope we can get some momentum

As an aside I looked into what was needed to buy out a club and found the Amazon link to this book but sadly it was never published. I did try to contact the author via the publisher about when it was to be released but after 3 attempts they never got back.

    Count me in for this.
Very pyssed with the route football is taking on local communities the world over to be honest. Fans have been disenfranchised from their clubs.
    Good job.....

I’ve reached out to see if my friend will get me Adrian Chiles’s number.

This is not guaranteed as I’m presuming he was given it on strict orders not to pass it on but all I can do is try.

Maybe a Twitter fan can message him and enquire, I don’t do Twitter?

I would be in! Look at Scarborough - went bust and had no ground! Now promoted last year - almost top of the league - own stadium back in Scarborough with fantastic support ( took 600 to Darlington last week ) - have Jonno Greening as their manager and now 100% owned by the supporters. It can be done!!’

A fans consortium, I believe, took over Rushden and Diamonds some years back and it went very badly. An acquaintance of mine had a box there and was close to those at the top of the club, he alleged that they had no idea what they were doing and it was their incompetence in the running of a football club that led directly to that clubs demise. That superb ground has now been demolished while Rushden and Diamonds, or what is left of it, play on what is almost a park pitch. It just vividly demonstrates that any fans consortium requires people that really know what they are doing in the field of football club management. I would however, support any well organised protest campaign and a buy out group provided that it could demonstrate the necessary credentials.
