    Lai promised to pay by 31st December, he blame the Postal strike.

    It is quite likely, Al, that even Gourlay doesn’t know what Lai intends to do regarding the repayment. If Lai really doesn’t give a **** about the club, he won’t tell anyone.

    He resigned to try and avoid being charged with malpractice at some point by HMRC.

    There’s no wonder that Lai hides in China, he needs to stay beyond the reach of our judicial system.

    You will know Mick - big companies and those running big companies are beyond the reach of the beloved HMRC. It’s the little man like plumbers - window cleaners etc who are hammered and lose their houses. Mel Norris will have been laughing all the way to the bank with what he did! Jamie Oliver is another - busted all his restaurants - screwed all his creditors and his other company continues to make millions!

    If Lai is found guilty of illegal financial dealings could his assets be frozen or confiscated or is this just wishful thinking on my part. I have no idea of the laws pertaining to this.
