Still waiting for somebody to return the toys launched out of my pram last night.

We lost all the last 3 visits to Aldershot, no wins in 5 going back to 1988.

Last time we played there I unfortunately predicted the 3-1 defeat (40/1) although it went a long way to me winning the inaugural 'Notts Match Day Bet Competition' (RIP). Great days.

This time we are a different proposition on the road. After the Boundary Park we need to win this and I think we will 2-1.

I remember that game well:

I regularly do a few small stakes 'consolation' bets on things I don't want to happen so I can pretend it makes things better. That's why I often bet on Notts to lose and Forest and Stags to win in doubles and trebles when the odds appear generous. I had a look at the 3-1 score and Coral were going 50/1, and they had given me an odds boost which took it to 60/1. I stuck a couple of quid on in case the worst happened, which it did.
