Don’t know whether anyone watches this but it astounds me the great general knowledge of the contestants

Today I found out that :

A tall pink wading bird is a pelican.
New Forest is further north than Sherwood Forest
The battle of Hastings was in 1866
They had never heard of the Battle of Britain.

Staggering.

They don't choose the contestants based on their general knowledge that's for sure.

I watch it regularly followed by the chase. I don't mind when contestants get the answers wrong because it makes me feel good when I know the answers to the questions, ha-ha. What does my head in though is when people don't know when to press the button to release the coin and they say "oh please don't ride", idiots. Don't they watch the show before applying to go on it? If you press the button at the right time then your coin will go flat every time. Common sense is all it takes.
