It’s all about market forces now. Money talks, it always has, now more so than ever. The NHS and care crisis puts football, certainly at the professional level, into some sort of perspective. I don’t believe that the people putting vast sums into the buying of football clubs really care that much for the game, their primary function in life is to make money. Big changes to top level football are, I believe, inevitable and I don’t think that genuine football fans, like us, will like it very much. Just imagine, a billionaire owner comes along, puts mega money into player recruitment and triples ticket prices. Will that make you happy?
