    Shay Given as a pundit

I think he comes across very good; informed, calm and quite realistic. If not objective, then certainly trying to paint a more nuanced picture of Newcastle and what Newcastle fans are like, their expectations and so forth.

He's not the outrageous, controversial Roy Keane-figure, but it's quite sobering listening to him. A good representative of Newcastle.

....would expect nothing less from the man.

Love the way JR thinks he knows more about the club and fans than a guy who played for the team for years.

Basically everybody wants to pretend we didn’t want Eddie so that they can say we were deluded then and wrong now.

Yep. I think he speaks very well and, whilst clearly a fan, is, like you say, balanced.

Remember his son gatecrashing his interview after the takeover?

I've never seen that - don't know how not, it's brilliant

I also rate him as a pundit, better than a lot of hte usual lot.
