Why have we been on the "slippery slope"? No Bruno. He's back for the final, and Karius will play a blinder.

. Bruno played in a couple of lacklustre draws before getting the red card, so our dip in form hasn’t just been because he has been suspended.

I’m glad the ‘unbeaten’ tag is off our backs and I’ll be glad when the cup final is out of the way.

Still think we have a good chance.
Karius will have a class defence in front of him, and Man Utd don’t have the pace Liverpool have.
I’d put money on Botman handling Rashford.

But regardless of the result, I think this group of players will use a win or a loss as motivation to crack for the remainder of the season.

Ok,slippery slope was maybe a bit harsh but it “feels” like somethings changed in the way we play, the goals have dried up, and yes we’ve missed Bruno but I’m pessimistic about the final. I don’t have the blind optimism, more of a realistic opinion, they are on a great run,we aren’t, they have a better overall squad than us,which was highlighted on Sat, we brought on Matt Ritchie ffs. I pray to god we win it, I was at every round of the Fairs Cup win, and nowt since, I want something before I die.

Very fair and valid points. And you're right regards to recent form, however even if the goals have dried up and results haven't quite gone our way the past weeks, my faith is in the fact that the general ability and will to win has changed drastically and fundamentally. This makes me think that even with a slight dip in form, we will be ready to give the final a proper go.

Here's hoping we can all enjoy a festive, memorable Sunday as league cup champions <3

I think management deserve criticism regarding our goalkeeping situation this season. It has been farcical. Yes you have to blame Pope for the red card, but we simply didn't plan for it. Now our 4th or 5th choice keepers are playing in our most important game for over a decade.

Why allow Dubravka to get cup tied? Why no recall option in Darlow's loan contract?

We are one of a few teams with at least 2 very decent keepers, but we've ruined it for the benefi of.....Manu!

Dubravka might get a winners medal if Manu beat us. You cannot write this stuff.

regardless, im going to have the best weekend ever - watching Newcastle in a cup final that definitely wasn't in the tarot cards or even on the horizon earlier in this season. don't write us off yet - we are always better as the underdogs than as the favorites. Ive been to 2 finals in the 70's where basically the 1st one we just froze and didn't turn up = we were marginally better in the 2nd one against man city but not much - you know waht we still had an amazing weekend down in the big city, knowing london now better than we did then we will enjoy it even more regardless of what happens in the game.

just be proud we got there at all at this particular time
