Thread: Good Luck for Sunday!

    Good Luck for Sunday!

    Hi there,

I used to post a few years back as ' scalpels ' and re-registered a while back as stillscalpels, so I hope you don't mind me posting here, even as a red and white!

It's a fair old while since I've posted on here down to ill health which has got progressively worse and unfortunately I won't be around much longer, so I just wanted to wish you all the best for Sunday.

I've been lucky enough to see us win a Cup - albeit back in '73.

I know some of you lads are 'slightly longer in the tooth' as well and haven't been fortunate enough to see your team win a trophy. I genuinely hope your fortunes change for the better and you get to see Newcastle lift the Cup next Sunday.

Best wishes lads, the very best of luck for Sunday and enjoy the day.

Blimey, I don't rreally know where to start on this.

My immediate thought was 'ah, canny, Scalpels is back'. Much as there's a rivalry between our clubs which goes too far on both sides, you're welcome on here and always have been-you were always canny.

Thank you for your kind wishes about next week-I reckon there won't be many of a red and white persuasion who feel that way so it's very good of you to say that.

Most importantly, I can't adequately express how sorry I am to hear about your worsening health and if posting on here gives you any distraction at all from what you're going through then please continue as long as you wish or can.

My very best wishes to you, too, man. And I'm sure that will be echoed by everyone on here.

    Certainly is from me.
We had some good “discussions” over the years on here - always strong rivalry but never anything ‘under the belt’.
It’s funny I was just thinking yesterday if Sunderland were in our position on Sunday and I could choose if they won or lost, which would I choose? After a lot of back and forwards, the north-east argument won me over. The people of the region, on the whole, receive a rough deal compared to almost every other part of the country, and anything to make them happy has to be supported.

Cheers Scalpels and all best wishes to you with your health issues.

Chin up Scalpels, good of you to post what you did. Never good to hear of anyone ill, especially if it`s serious so all the best. I`ve got copd and thought I was a goner twice this winter and it`s not a great outllook so I have an idea what it must be like.
