    NHS is an absolute shambles.

    Needs dismantling and replacing.

Glad it's gone ok Lol. It's the middle management what drain the money away.

I too was a victim of a incident a few years ago, it was like a sketch from Fawlty Towers, but to be fair, I've been treated fine for the last 2 op's.

Thanks avon,I’ve never had a problem with RDGH I just find losing medical records ridiculous. The waiting room Sunday was packed & there was some very poorly looking people in that room. I hope they get their right results.

It's always been chaotic but it's getting worse. Extra money usually goes on more management but that just seems to mean more confusion.

Time to look at the European systems or Australia, where many of our medical staff are heading.

I've always thought that if something is worth having in principle (free at point of delivery through NI contributions, it doesn't seem to beyond wit and wisdom to just lead on making it not a shambles, shake it up, manage it better but keep the principle.

Is the real reason though that people have such strong objections to the NHS is that they disagree with the basic priciple pf everyone paying in through NI and whilst being healthy themselves resenting that their contributions are being used to support NHS users that don't pay in as much? And therefore do these folk mainly just want a system of private health insurance where you pay your own and not contribute to anyone else's/wider institution etc. If that is the case, best just say that, and not just keep going on about perceived NHS ineffiencies?

All for reviewing and shaking up to manage the inefficiencies better, but can't help but thinking that some of the passionate objections are more on the wider principle of the NHS. Not really seen a convincing alternative from other countries that do better at making health protection more financially viable whilst at the same time making it so that lack of money doesn't prevent many people having access to health protection. Open to reconsider though.

Hope all ok with missus Lol

It's an interesting question. Does the majority of the UK population want a free for all at source NHS?...or is there more of a preference for a tiered/privately paid for system? How much stomach is there in the country at large to really sort out the NHS? There's one thing for sure, corporate interest and profit will always get in the way of and disrupt any well intentioned debate.

Similarly, there needs to be some open debate about the obesity epidemic that is sweeping the world, but with corporate interest driven towards making more readily available, cheap, unhealthy but very profitable food, that's also an impossibility.

Obesity and all it's associated problems is a massive drain on the NHS. Look at any footage from 30-40 years ago and compare to today. There's far more obese people about nowadays. Why?... because cheap unhealthy food is now much more readily available. It's a double win for big business with pharma sweeping up massive profits on the back of unhealthy populations.

Basically, you can forget any idea of social responsibility as far as the NHS is concerned. It's being driven towards privatisation whether we like it or not.
