Looking at today's game as a top contest

It only emphasised that we have come so far too quickly for the squad as a whole.

I can see it's going to take a couple of seasons and hard work over at least four transfer windows to get to a full efficient squad where any and every member could be a starter.

Yes, with the squad we've got, we were over-achieving. It's disappointing to drop out of the Top 4 because, regardless of anything else, we were there on merit.

What it did show was that, imo, in Howe, we've got the man to take us places. What he's done with this squad is phenomenal. That cracks are starting to show is down to the deficiencies in the squad caused by 14 years of neglect.

    Agreed.

As I said on another thread - they brought on Sancho, we brought on Ritchie.

    Clearly.

This summer is the time to go all in. New sponsors/ revenue streams 4 - 5 40+ mil signings are a minimum. The words from the board, we will win the cup, fa cup etc will need to ve backed up with actions greater than 1 Anthony Gordon per window.

Signing like Chelsea has done mid season is stupid. Following the idea of making all the signings in a single window is not stupid.

To be a top club we have to be brutal. Sentiment is out the window or we'll continue to be an also ran, the runner up, the loser of finals & the punchline to every joke.

    Money where mouth is
    Actions speak louder than words
EH has shown he's got what it bring silverware

Hopefully we've got enough to get us through the rest of the season with a decent finish. I don't want this all to go down hill.

Once again become a laughing stock. Those committed fans who go every week, the board, the team & staff deserve so much more than that
