Yip. He was getting called Cantwin and ridiculed to fk after losing in the Scottish Cup tie to a Sunday pub team but now all of a sudden he just might be the right fit for us or he's got something to prove or he comes across well in an interview on DUTV🤣Let's no forget that after Liam"Mr Magoo"Fox that any fkr on this planet would look and sound good in an interview on DUTV......1 WIN IN HIS LAST 10 WITH THE SHEEPIES......So let's not get too exited chaps.

Don’t think Nowin is a good appointment but he’s taken on a hell of a challenge to think he can turn around a team that’s had 26 games so far of turgid , terrible , embarrassing , pathetic performances that has taken us to a new low.

Regime changes are now giving us a chance to rebuild but have already accepted a while back that this shall come from the lower league next year where can only hope our financial and physical support together shall bring us back to where we belong.

Painful but it’s where we are.

Bring on next year and we go again.
It usually works by the players giving an extra 5-10% as a collective, which in turn improves performances & rebuilds broken confidence. Motherwell being a great example.

Ach I don't see folk getting excited as such, just an acknowledgement that the guy does give a good interview and will have a point to prove. These are both facts at the end of the day. Cannae blame guys for looking for positives from the situation after the sh*tshow of a season we've had.

I think getting an up for it, fighting spirit, from the players will in part be influenced by which of them expects to be at Tannadice next season. Who is out of contract? Who has signed pre-nuptials with other clubs, etc. Also Mulgrew and Fletcher will be lucky to get another playing season out of us, considering their age.

Any player who does not expect to be at Tannadice playing next season, may well lack motivation. If they know the club doesn't want them beyond May why should they risk injury which could affect their ability to attract a contract from elsewhere? Such players could go to a lot of effort and risk to save United, but end up sacrificing themselves?

At the end of the day the Club is not No. 1 to the players.

I know what you mean but it's very unprofessional of any player having this attitude and that in itself will have a direct effect on their future prospects.

Sorting out the goalkeeper arguably more important than the manager, such has been the detrimental impact of ours this season. You can organise a team, get an extra ounce of effort, we can be competing, and all that belief and confidence is just stripped away the moment one of our calamities throws one in the net, as seen last 3 games - here we go again, esp given our lack of goals. Even in the 4-0 v sheep Eriksson committed an absolute howler coming for a cross at 0-0, when the Aberdeen striker missed an open goal.

From what we have seen so far this season, unprofessional conduct and application are not in short supply. Yes there will always be players who want to go out there and get stuck in, but overall there is a malaise within the team which eithers accompanies them onto the pitch, or at some point during a game, takes over.

In this day and age, players' attitudes are governed by many factors and one of them being their relationship with their agent. If an agent is trying to attract the attention of other clubs to his client, from which he will make money, the last thing he will want is for his client to be ruled out through injury. Not good for business.

Nowadays, players like managers are often sought out to fill a gap first and foremost. United are at the forefront of that thinking.
