Goodwin did a great job at Alloa and St Mirren. Remember going in to The World Cup break after 16 games Aberdeen were 3rd. The mood was good at Aberdeen and the feeling was they were on their way back.

Things started to wrong when they lost these 2 injury time goals to Rangers after looking like they were going to take the 3 points. They then fell apart after a good performance in Cup semi against Rangers when that terrible defender got himself sent off. For whatever reason the players threw the towel in the next 3 games and he was out the door.

So when you analyse it 3 really bad performances and he was out. Up until that point they were sitting 4th in the league.

A couple of weeks ago if someone had said Fox will be gone, ASGHAR will be gone, and we'll have a new experienced manager in the door for a 12 game shootout, everyone would have taken it. Everyone. Even Shedka 😅

Good post. Maybe some poor man management up there, said the wrong thing at the wrong time, but you learn from that. I'm not up with what happened exactly but did they not sign too many players too quickly?

    100%
He may not be able to turn our fortunes around (really hope he does), but you can bet he’ll put his heart and soul into trying. Up to the players now to start showing they want it as badly, and try and repair some of the damage they have done this season.

Yep, he’ll get my backing. Need the players to stand up and be counted as he’s indicated!

New manager bounce …. How does this work, ……?

We suddenly find that we have

    A keeper that can catch?

A Right back that can pass to a teammate ?

A left back that doesn’t get reamed by the ball over his head in behind?

    A centre half(captain ) that’s interested?

His partner in crime that doesn’t need to get every pass to him as a back pass, no matter how far back, ……… then the 70 yard World Cup hoof to no one? Or doesn’t need the back pass to keeper to get it back again then repeat?

A Winger that actually can be a winger instead of a dud?

Midfielders that can suddenly tackle, or pass, or win the ball, track back, want to go forward, pass to a team mate or more importantly stop passing back to the defender who just wants to pass back to the liability between the sticks ( at least a goal a game )?

    Midfield snails actually can run?

70 minute players suddenly no longer gubbed and are fit for the 90 minutes?

An international striker that can score from 12 yards with a free shot at goal?

Other strikers hiding in a cupboard that are signed and available to play ?

Subbies that can make an impact ( assume may get on for more than 2 minutes )

Players that have pride, passion, self respect and a determination to play for our jersey……..

Don’t think Nowin is a good appointment but he’s taken on a hell of a challenge to think he can turn around a team that’s had 26 games so far of turgid , terrible , embarrassing , pathetic performances that has taken us to a new low.

Regime changes are now giving us a chance to rebuild but have already accepted a while back that this shall come from the lower league next year where can only hope our financial and physical support together shall bring us back to where we belong.

Painful but it’s where we are.

Bring on next year and we go again.
