We just need to start scoring again and we could even get back into top four with our games in hand.

I recorded our games against Liverpool and both Manchester teams and have watched them more than once,we matched them in everything but goals and even dominated them for long periods.

Whilst we technically could, I'm certain that the top 4 will be some combination of Man City, Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool. Brighton, Brentford, Fulham and Spurs are all in the mix with ourselves for the next 2 places but I expect Spurs to come top of that particular pile.

Our form has to change, though, which means that the team has to change. Playing players in the hope that they play themselves back into form (if, indeed, that's what was happening) isn't working-hasn't worked.

This for me too. Our bad run is over and the goals will come. Our failure to finish best in drawn matches is what has cost us places and it will be resolved.

even with strengthening in the summer i dont think we would have a strong enough squad for champions league, it's just a tad too soon. europa league - i think with some quality additions we could have a decent run, for definite, and a half chance to maybe even get to final - if not win it.

We got into the Fairs Cup in 69 through the back door, and look what happened there, nobody expected us to go and win it. It would be great for our recent signings if we could qualify for the europa league, and have a good run in it, would show intent, and maybe stop them casting envious eyes at Lpool,Manu, City etc, not that I think they are btw,but they are here to win things, and they have been sold the project,so we have to deliver. I know it’s early days for them but it’s a short career.

We should definitely aim for Europa League for the very reason that we should aim for a squad with quality and depth. I agree that the Champions League is probably a couple of years away right now for us in terms of being truly competitive.

If we re-find our form, Wilson returns to scoring ways, our midfield & defense solidify back to pre-World Cup standards then we'll fight all the way to the end for 4th place.

However, if it remains the same we'll be in the mix between 10-6th.

I agree. We should be nowhere near the CL next season, way too soon.....but thats not to say we can't. Its very possible if Wilson, Miggy or Iasak or all starts scoring. Very possible expecially with a good run of fixtures.

But as you say, this could do us harm next year if summer recruitment falls short.

    I'd take it though.

We see it all the time.

Small weak squads, West Ham, Leicester as examples league form got smashed when playing in Europe.

It needs considerable quality brought in to a club to ensure it to maintain a competitive level across the competitions.

We don't want to fall foul to that. The media will pressure Howe and the idiots in the fan base will come out the wood work once again.

Ain't no body got time for that
