    Its nothing to do with being a woman. Men can have a lousy game as a referee.

    As more come into the game...we will fondly remember how all male referees were great with our rose tinted glasses.

    I have no problem at all with female referees. I have seen worse male refs than the woman last night but nevertheless she did not have a good game, which is a pity, I would have liked her to have done well but as some have said, she didn’t keep up with the play well. In that respect, the linesmen could have performed better. The players didn’t seem to dispute her decisions as much as they usually do, which is good.

    I’m all for female refs but a prerequisite is that they have to have the ability to keep up with play.

    Women can’t play men’s football due to the disparity in physical ability, maybe the same thing should apply with match officials but not with VAR, any fool can do that job.

    All this said, many of the male refs have lacked basic fitness levels.

    Refering to the physical ability of Referees. Obviously all "top" level Officials must pass some sort of fitness test at some point. Based on the comments here about last nights performance perhaps the bar is set too low at the moment
