A few days ago before the three away games in succession

had you been offered a guaranteed 6 points, I'm sure most of us would have taken that.

It's just a shame that the only lost points out of those three games was to an up and coming rival.

It's a fair point. iIncluding the Manu game it's been a great run of results.

The manner of the defeat was a bit worrying today, but sometimes it takes something like that to wake teams up.
The squad is small, it's been along season and our play style has been intense. Top 4 is going to require graft, skill and a lot of luck.
I think we'll finish just short, but next season is only going to be an improvement. The areas we need to strengthen are obvious.

    Onwards and upwards.

Can I just say, apart from that cool Villa fan that posted on here recently, I can't stand them generally. Gutted we lost today.

    We would, we would.

    But...

Today's performance does worry me a bit. Our form has been up and down since Christmas but our recent run of wins gave no indication of a performance quite as poor as this other than the first half against Brentford. We were nowhere near Villa for the vast majority of the game-at least if we'd turned up we'd have something to build on next weekend but there's an awful lot needs fixing based on today.

I dunno, maybe I'm overstating it in the immediate adtermath of the defeat, but...today was quite a chastening experience.

Ah, I'm over that whole 'banner' thing-life's too short and all that and the ones I've chatted to seem canny.

I cannot remember the last time we were humbled like we were today. It wasn't this season that's for sure. Only City have put 3 past us this season i think. Well and truly battered.

Takes me a while to get over things Zip

I think I was just beginning to get over it, then Merson and Agbonlahor opened their mouths!

Credit to them though. Deserved victory today and great run of form. They are 6th. Incredible really.

I believe this is what is known as a 'reality check.'

However we are still 3rd with a game in hand on Spurs. If Forest are to survive they need a win tomorrow against Man U, who, are suffering a lot of injuries.

So if Forest do themselves & us a favour tomorrow we will go into the match with Spurs in 3rd spot. The match will have zero impact on our top for chances.

My opinion is that this will be a blip. Our last run of poor form was compounded by injury to Bruno (who is totally key to our team) and suspension to Big Joe. Fingers crossed this won’t happen again this season. It’s good news that Miggy’s back and ASM’ll be soon too.

    Hope you're right, man.

I was shocked at how poor we were today.

Aye - hopefully it acts as a wake up for rest of the season.
