Have spent many hours I will never get back in corporate meetings, the list of inane sound bites increases by the day, ultimately these meetings will disappear up their own backsides in a cloud of sound bites and jargon with no purpose whatsoever.

Good question Splinter.

I checked it out and apparently it derives from the days where you were able to pay a little extra to enter a music hall or picture house earlier than the masses to choose your seat early and avoid the stampede.

So in essence it means to do something early and get ahead of the game I guess.

I saw a game when the commentator stated that a player had had his pocket picked, an utterly stupid phrase, that would never catch on, I thought, its said loads of times now

When i played 6 a side football the guy that organised it was not great at football and during the game he would shout "recycle", total garbage!
