Could be a terrorist attack, what with the army there and also inter agency officers.

I appreciate the police need to do their job but they really should be more open. Looking on twitter is just vile with the amount of racist comments being fired off.

Don't get me wrong, people shouldn't say it but when people don't have all the facts they speculate and you end up with a group of people getting abuse.

If it was terror motivated it would be a bit weird to go out at 4am, the purpose of a terror attack is to inflict maximum damage and long term fear, so you'd expect them to target shoppers at peak business hours. It could be, but this looks to me like somebody's lost the plot over something domestic related.

Shouldn't they be focussing on the investigation collecting the correct info and then at an appropriate time reporting it? They can't really win in these situations to be honest. And I can tell you now that I am no fan of the police in the UK or here for various solid reasons.

You're right, they are probably in a no win situation, they could release more details of what they have though to stop people jumping to conclusions. I doubt the media teams who do the statements would be investigating anything, most likely civilian members of staff

The timing is a bit off as you say, I'm sure more will come out in the wash. Seems a bit of a weird time to go hunting down people when most are asleep, although sadly and unfortunately they did find people around

Doesnt matter what you report. In these times people always jump to conclusions. Nobody wins. And now are are debating it!

The problem is not with the police or media releasing information it’s the idiots who have to speculate before the facts are known, just to look good on social media. There’s some of that happening on here to a limited degree and I’m sure plenty more on other social media channels. I’m sure there’s folks down there now taking selfie’s in front of the police cordons ffs.

Interesting now that an eye witness says the first 2 victims were stabbed “in a frenzied attack” - not shot, as first reported by the BBC News.

It also doesn’t help when the media provide inaccurate information and try to make themselves look good either. The facts will, no doubt, emerge in due course.
