It was raining there at 10am.

"10.15am The covers are coming off and rain is expected to clear fully by the afternoon but there may be another shower before 12pm. No concerns of a delayed start at this stage but we'll obviously keep you posted. The players are heading out onto the ground for warm ups".

Amazingly enough I think that format might die off before test cricket now, hopefully.
In the last couple of days we have seen the beauty of the two innings formats of the game. Notts epic rearguard action to gain an unlikely draw against Warwickshire, and England's gung ho style in which to get them firmly on the front foot. Both fantastic to watch in their different ways.
The Hundred - could never understand why we needed that (apart from the financial side of course).

T20 Blast is here to stay though, hopefully. The two scenarios may be a fantastic watch for a serious cricket fan but the 20 over format is much more attractive to those who just want a good night out with a result at the end of it.

Anyone think our bowling attack looks a bit lightweight? 2 over 35's, one seamer, one spinner and 3 part timers? you get the feeling that the Aussie "patience" method will always be too much for our "death or glory" method. Goowon England , prove me wrong.

Win, lose, rarely draw. Whatever happens it's exciting and entertaining.

I think we need to bring back Foakes, a specialist keeper and we get 3 more wickets. He can also bat. I’d expect Barstow to remain for his batting so it’d be a tough decision who to leave out.

What Englishman would find Stuart Broad bowling an Aussie out with a no ball, in the Ashes, in any way funny. I assume you are an Englishman marky.

Important day coming up tomorrow, we could do with nicking a lead if possible, then giving the Aussies a decent total to chase, as I think their will be a fair amount of spin in the fourth innings.

Completely agree about Foakes, he is a top keeper and can bat. I would guess that dropped catches or missed stumpings by the keeper add upto far more runs given away, than runs scored by a batting keeper, especially in Foakes case.

I was en route to pick up a fish and chips feast for the family on the south coast and was listening when legend Broad got that key wicket.... moments later gutted.

Still the haddock was sensational as it should be in that location.
