Who is the laziest player we've ever had?

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say it's between Shelvey and Ben Arfa (second part of his spell here).

I liked Shelvey to begin with, but I don't think he was ever all that. The flash passes and spending most games looking around and being late for every defensive action frustrated me. I loved Ben Arfa and remember him fondly - I also seem to remember him being a player who didn't put in the effort when things weren't going our way.

Feel free to agree or disagree. Who else was a lazy old git?

    Hughie

Marcellino spent more time lying on medical bed than he did on the pitch

True. But was he lazy as a player on the pitch? I don't know.

Owen…… and Bruce (if we’re allowed managers).

Actually, those are two very good shouts.

Mind, if the thread was 'biggest cunts', the answer would indeed be Owen and the thread would be closed.

    Owen for me.

Yes, agreed about Shelvey and Ben Arfa but at least they gave us "moments".

Owen was just lazy and gave us nothing.

I’ll concede that, Jammy. Owen didn’t want to run or take any chances when he played for us so that he could play for England. That’s selfishness and lazyness embodied.
