    Mount to Moan Ewe

A Stockport based Ram friend of mine was that news and posted "Mason Mount is dead to me", on FB.

    I replied with "Who?"

Au contraire, Rodders. A player is worth whatever a club is prepared to give for them. Chelsea wanted 65M rising to 70M. Mewe's first 2 bids were turned down. A 3rd, also labelled final, bid of 55M rising to 60M was accepted. Possibly because there was no other concrete interest in the lad. Moan Ewe got their man at a price they were willing to pay.

Chelsea? They got 55M+ for a lad from their academy which is a decent profit. Look at another midfielder they signed for £30M from Ajax that could have risen to £40M. Ziyech. I forecast at the time he wouldn't be a success in the PL. I was right. They've just sold him, 2 years later, to a Saudi club for €10M (£8.55M). He was also on a £5.2M a year wage. Expensive error.

Hi OTR, hope you are keeping well.
Despite todays inflated prices for dross I agree. Time will tell of course but I don't see him being anything special.

Given he is from the Chelsea academy and wa sonly ever on loan to Derby, if anybody negotiated a deal that involved payment to Derby would be a ****ing genius!!

You lie GP? No, that I couldn't believe, wilful mischievous misdirection on the other hand...
