Based on a 2nd half of the season table (last 23 games), we should expect Stockport to be the strongest of the teams who were in L2 last season. Look at Gillingham though, finished 17th!!! They could be the dark horse.

Doing the same for L1, Morecame and MKD are in 17th and 18th place.
To be honest I don't care as long as we don't go back down to that tin pot league. Would love us to be in the mix around the top but, as long as we hold our own & nothing can be taken for granted, I'll be happy
It would be easier to identify the dark horses in the NL than identify the black beauty in L2. In both leagues they really like the favourites, short stingy odds on the face of it.
No doubt all of the teams in the division are recruiting new players, and all will believe they are the signings that will gain them promotion. As it stands, we like everyone else thinks it will be us.. But at the end of the day it will be the ones who have recruited the best.
We shall have a good idea how things are to pan out after we have played around 10 games.....
I always say that it's not worth looking at the table until a 10 games in & it would be interesting to see last seasons positions after 10, of what I've seen we seem to have recruited better than most & seeing that we had a strong squad anyway I really fancy us to be up there this season. COYP
Same here 10-12 games required. Many a fan doesn't have the patience and prefers the rollercoaster but IMO it requires that much to know how good, bad or otherwise the start of the season is. Same as a new player into a side, often needs 5-6 games for them to hit their stride and to allow fans to draw conclusions.
I agree. Last season our class showed against mostly weak opposition, but when we played a half-decent team it wasn't so easy. L2 will be full of teams that are considerable better than Boreham Wood or Chesterfield. I also agree that our defence needs strengthening to cope with better teams.
I think top half with a chance of sneaking the playoffs sounds reasonable, but I can't see us troubling the top three.
