I never realised Jimmy Savile was a wrestler.

I believe he was too, although long before my time in the 1960s.

I'm sure a few of the older folk on here will be able to confirm that this was the case.

When I used to watch it back in the day, it was always 'sports entertainment' , a physical soap opera, just a bit of fun. One thing it isn't is fake, which is a common mistake from the uneducated on the subject.

Relax it's just a question about everyone's Avatars and the stories behind them.

Of course it is not a real sport, it's entertainment, see above "physical soap opera".

It's also not fake, always pre determined outcomes and often pre planned but the skills required, action and injuries are very real. It's certainly not fake.

Mine is because I couldn’t get the Avatar I wanted to work. I tried a completely random pic, of David Hasselhoff, and it worked.
I’ve been meaning to change it for the last 15 years!

Ha ha - similar! I think I tried a few Notts related ones that were the wrong ratio before trying this one. It's a character from the comic series Love and Rockets (which the band named themselves after), which I happened to be reading at the time.

It's marginally embarrassing that I rarely post, but when I do I have one of the more garish avatars...
