Rodon had been a regular starter for Rennes in Brittany France at the beginning of his seasons loan but missed a couple of games in October with a red card suspension & another one with the flu.
He then went to Qatar with Wales & then did'nt play for Rennes for 3 months.
Rodon slipped down to fourth in manager Bruno Genesio’s central defender 'pecking order' & played 20 matches in all competitions. His last appearance in Ligue 1 came against FC Toulouse in February.
So obviously Rennes did'nt trigger their purchase option for 25 year old Joe Rodon in the summer -thus letting us in.

Rodon a great signing, Aarons I don't really understand unless we are planning on selling Drameh to fund it. I like Aarons but given the glaring gaps in centre midfield, striker and attacking midfield oh and left back, I can't really say signing a right back is something we should be looking at right now.
