Yes on the face of it but can we be absolutely certain the technology is really accurate enough to measure from the split second the ball was played?
Personally I've never been convinced about that particularly when goals are disallowed because someone's toenail is offside.

Good point but, at the moment, it's surely the most accurate measurement we've got and decisions should be made on the best evidence available.

True enough but var really is an excitement sponge just killing the drama.
