we were in trouble on this one as Bournemouth executed the relegation clause. we were going to lose no matter what. Just a matter of whether we lost KJA style with punitive damages thrown in or just give up and let Bournemouth execute the relegation clause. If we did get 23 million we actually got a little more than the 20 million release clause. Compared to all of the other departures we actually might have gotten a tad bit more than the horrible contract clauses. Of course, he's worth quite a bit more on the open market than orta's relegation clause.

He was one of the only ones I wanted us to have kept hold of. I think him and Ampadu would have been a great combination in this league.
At least we managed to recover some funding, which we will obviously now waste on more backroom staff or an upmarket redecoration of the boardroom.
