    The names being banded about - Nicky Clark, Oli Shaw and Stephen Fletcher - could all do us a turn, and we certainly need one striker in before the end of the transfer window. There is also the possibility of another young player from England, as Biereth has shown (albeit briefly) that there is talent there we fans (well, me at least) have never heard of.

    If I had to choose one I’d go for Fletcher as I think he would link very well with Paton, Slattery and Spittal making runs from midfield and, looking ahead, when Mika is back fit he would help the young Arsenal loanee develop his game.

    Signing Clark given his injury record and our current squad options would be a daft move imho.
