I would imagine a lot of clubs have or have had family sections, but not many put them behind a goal. It made sense to have a safe area back in the day but we're at the point now where you've got family friendly stadiums, not just individual stands.
L1 crowds have gone nuts. Cambridge and Exeter I always associated with gates of less than 3.5k, both currently averaging over 7k. Nine L1 clubs currently averaging over 10k. Wycombe though, despite their recent stint in tier 2, below 5k.
1985/86 we were the 51st best supported club averaging 4,404, last season the 51st best supported club (Rotherham) averaged 10,515.

Tend to agree mate for many the family stand is the first step in supporting Notts, I have limited experience with bringing kids but once took my mates young daughter into the Roadside & she was scared to death with the noise when we scored, she must be in her 40s now & has never attended since, I do think we will sort the JS ahtttt when the gates grow big enough & the family stand may contribute to the atmosphere when it gets busier. We're getting there aren't we, the glory days (relatively speaking) are coming back.
Tom Williams on the attendances and shift in supporter demographic . . .

It was noticeable walking away from the ground and on the tram just how many kids were singing the "Super County" song. Long may it continue.
