Thread: 9/11 - Where where you?

I was at work as a compositor at The Bham Post & Mail newspaper when the news came through about the first crash, I thought what a terrible accident but when, shortly afterwards news of the second crash came through, it dawned on me that this was a terrorist plot.

I was at work at Tesco head office in Welwyn Gdn City and walked in through the entrance foyer to a gathering of workers staring at the TV screens. I looked on in disbelief for a couple of minutes and immediately thought of my cousin who worked in Manhattan, one or two of the blokes were awkwardly joking which made me fume so I went up to join the rest of the team. I had been up those towers a couple of times and was stunned, it consumed me too & there are lots of unanswered questions.

My cousin was walking to his office a few blocks away when the first plane flew over him, he saw the 2nd go in from his window and picked up his briefcase, got the last train out of there. My neighbours were on the tarmac at JFK waiting to take off and could see the smoke, their plane left an hour before all aircraft were ordered to land (they had been up the Towers the previous day).

22 years, hard to take in how some people have no regard for human life and those that work for them follow along like sheep.

I was off work for some reason. I watched it with my son and daughter. My wife came in from work and was totally unaware of what had happened.

I have been up one of the towers and took a few pictures from up there and of the towers from below. When we next went to NY the area was completely boarded off from view.
