Was it ever Friday? I thought it was when I lived there up to 1980.
When we were last over we stayed in Silkstone Common. Early one Friday morning I noticed a long line outside the little bakery/shop there waiting for it to open. Must do a good coffee and or bagels and cream cheese to have folks in line that early I thought. No, each and every one was an old bloke who walked out with a Barnsley Chronicle tucked under his armpit. Time has stood still in Silkstone Common
