20 mph limit in Wales from Sunday 17th September!

    Be aware of this.

Huge numbers of 30mph roads in Wales are changing to 20mph from the 17th.

Many of these roads won’t be marked as 20mph , we’re just expected to know! 🤔😩

Another way of rinsing of the public.

Couldn't make it up could you! I get roads by schools or hospitals or pedestrian busy areas but a blanket speed limit of 20 mph? So a road passing a school, for example, is going to be 20 mph even in the middle of the night with the school closed and no traffic? Doubtless they will also start installing more cameras to make money out of this too.

With coal gone they have got to make money one way or another. Stupid speed restrictions coupled with a phlegm induced language is a recipe for no tourism income.

I believe speed limits past schools and on housing estates should be 15-20 mph but this total change to most stretches of 30mph is just nonsense.

Even the Welsh think Drakeford is an utter tool.

The most unimpressive of political figures which in itself is quite a feat.

Every time I go to respond to your posts Mick, they just vanish. Too many bugs on this site.

Anyway, this 20mph debacle is frustrating so many people and I really hope it’s the end of labour here in Wales. It’s a dictatorship and that’s coming from me who generally considers being in the middle but maybe slight leaning to left.

There’s a petition that’s had more votes against it in the Senedds history, and they’ve ignored it for months.

They had a vote last week and all labour approved of the changes.

It’s corruption. £130m for signs throughout wales - i’d love to be that company owner. Hmm anyone else pocketing from this?

It’s fine to have a 20 mph speed limit in certain areas but to have a blanket coverage in all built up areas is ridiculous. Let’s hope that this doesn’t come into force in England and that it’s reversed where it has come into force.

At 149,000 signatures, the petition is well over the 10,000 needed to force the Senedd to at least reconsider the matter. Let's see if common sense prevails. Tbh, I think there might be some costly back-tracking to come although the reduction to 20mph will almost certainly go ahead in certain circumstances (e.g. outside of schools) but these are situations that most people probably aren't in disagreement with.

It was torturous trying to get out of Tenby today mate, it literally felt ridiculously slow.

Not helped by the idiots trying desperately not to do 20 who were driving at 15-17 mph.

When I reality, they give a tolerance of 10% plus 2mph anyway so you can safely do 23-24 without getting a ticket.

Where in Wales do you live?

I have seen reports that there will no leeway; even 21mph will get you a ticket. That’s the Welsh ‘government’ for you, though, a bunch of bigoted crackpots.
